Northerly Island is somewhat forgotten for Chicagoans.
It used to be an airport for small aircrafts and short-distance travelers.
The Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport had ended its service in 2003 but then the land on the periphery of the city, while being relatively undeveloped, been left there without notice.
It is a great fortune for a metropolis to have a natural resource as well. Just like the West Lake of Hangzhou, or the Kamo River of Kyoto, it is  equally important to keep the natural aspect of Chicago while developing the city life.
For Chicagoans, the Northerly Island has great opportunity to become a  temporary get-away from the city.
This project is delved into exploring the contemporary idea of 'wellness'. Other than physical health, there're multiple gradients of wellness, that contribute to the holistic of a modern being.
However, physical health being the fundamental aspect of the other dimensions is argued to be the most important. Thus in order to cater to the Chicago public an inclusive environment for the better of physical heath, this project will attempt to rearrange the sequence of space and programs to meet its goal.
